The Week beginning October 2nd, 2006
Week as a Whole:
Jupiter continues to move from the square to Neptune to the square to Saturn (coming in three weeks) as political choices become firm and we have begun to emerge from Neptune’s fog. Issues of secret courts carrying out ideological agendas will refocus on the power of the executive and leadership’s responsibility for its actions. There will be somewhat less spin and more facts. Choices and allegiances will have more obvious consequences and they cannot be deferred much longer. But after this week’s Full Moon on Friday illuminates the choices we’ve made and new journeys begun, we enter a period of normal energy levels which may seem abnormal by virtue of being normal. We’ve been stressed for so long this breathing spell feels long overdue. We enjoy greater day-to-day control and decision making power when we’re not buffeted by rapid change and high-buzz action.
When Venus left Virgo last week, we returned to another familiar condition: no earth energy. Except for the Moon’s thrice monthly passages through the earth signs, no planet will emit the practical, time-aware, grounding of Capricorn, Taurus or Virgo. This was the condition last spring and early summer. We’re full of ideas, feelings, and get up and go, but our balloons deflate easily and momentum requires consistent effort. Pay attention to the Moon’s position in earth signs when you make major purchases or want to “ground” yourself.
Mars in Libra makes harmony with Neptune in Aquarius this week on Wednesday. Clever and gracious ways to respond and embellish come easily. New arrangements and relationships present themselves. There’s a feeling of friendship and easy access to social groups. We’re not at a loss for words. While not really self-starting with this connection, we can react and imaginatively elaborate an idea. We’re stirred by big ideas and altruistic motives. But since this connection is all air, we may be left with beautiful mental experiences rather than a concrete outcome.
The Full Moon Friday ends this eclipse season’s maxed out energy levels. The last minute business of the Solar Eclipse on September 22nd, set a process in motion and this Full Moon brings it into the light. Relationships and diplomacy are where the unfinished business must be resolved. We’re trying to find a new balance between us and our friends and enemies. Every action calls forth a reaction late this week as the Moon comes full. The powerful Libra influence brings the opportunity to step outside our personal POV and imagine what another might think in any situation. This has both social and strategic value.
Political confusion continues after this Friday, but our personal lives can settle down into their new directions and we can return to enjoying the myriad small pleasures of human life on our beautiful planet. Be well.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 2 October 2006
The easy flow of ideas and imagination began last night when the Moon entered Aquarius. She makes flowing contacts with Venus and the Sun today. This continues through tomorrow.
Tuesday 3 October 2006
A night of vivid and symbolic dreams is hard to leave in the morning. But we swing into action and get clear about an issue that had been fuzzy by the time the Moon goes Void at 1:!3pm/4:13pm connected with Pluto.
Wednesday 4 October 2006
Now is Pisces, the Moon continues to shine dream-light on the world. She passes exactly over Uranus at 5:20pm/8:20pm in a moment that may bring sudden empathy or recognition of a hidden connection.
Thursday 5 October 2006
Moral or ethical constraints make themselves felt as the Moon again goes Void at 1:33pm/4:33pm in contact with Pluto. She enters Aries at 10:32pm/1:32am and begins amping up as tomorrow’s Full Moon approaches.
Friday 6 October 2006
Part of us wants total Aries freedom today and another part wants to get along with everyone. Finding that balance in which we maintain our identity yet remain in relationship is always the theme of the Harvest Moon.
Saturday 7 October 2006
The Moon goes Void again in contact with – guess who? Pluto at 1:05pm/4:05pm. Our energy is high and free flowing this morning. Nothing seems impossible. Get going before the Void period begins otherwise there will be no result beyond hot air.
Sunday 8 October 2006
Today’s Taurus Moon begins a two day period of earth energy. So shop ‘til you drop. Now’s the time to consider costs and budgets and maybe re-evaluate yesterday’s grand scheme.
Long Range Forecast:
November 8 – In the middle of Mercury retrograde (10/29 through 11/18) Mercury aligns exactly with the Sun in an “eclipse of Mercury”. The last time this happened was May 2003. Remember “Mission Accomplished?” I’m concerned about major Mercury aspects occurring near Election Day in the U.S. The 2000 election occurred on the day Mercury changed direction. The anticipated widespread use of electronic voting machines and validity of their results may be an issue. (Thanks to reader John Dawson for alerting me to this event.)
November 23rd – Jupiter leaves Scorpio to spend a year in his home sign of Sagittarius. Less spying and secret courts, more transparency. A new cycle of foreign affairs, jurisprudence, and religious thinking begins.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
April 14, 2009 – October 21, 2010
- Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of
business-as-usual politics. The
nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government
will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto,
a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
