Celestial Weather

25 September 2006 – 1 October 2006

The Week beginning September 25th, 2006

Week as a Whole:

On Monday, Venus squares Pluto and Mercury makes a clarifying two-sign contact to Saturn, in fact, the combined effect of these two patterns may briefly focus our thinking and feelings in a very confusing period.  Venus in Virgo can be too critical for easy social grace, but with the fog of Jupiter square to Neptune still swirling we can use all the crisp analysis we can get.  This combo can bring some of us to realize they’ve “had enough” and they’re done with whatever long-term irritation they’ve been enduring.  It may be a day of camels and last straws.  There may be some fireworks as indicated by the explosive combined energy of Mars and Uranus that often comes early and will be exact on Tuesday.  Mars and Uranus in this sharply stressful relation have the potential for a “surprise attack” or sudden unexpected outburst of anger.  Venus and Mars symbolize our personal interactions and when Venus is tense with Pluto and Mars is also tense with Uranus, a minor dispute may go thermonuclear as buried resentments and feelings explode out of a tiny crack.

Tuesday, the Moon re-energizes the current historic T-square pattern as she squares Neptune, aligns with Jupiter, and then squares Saturn a few hours later.  Note the Moon and Jupiter at the 8 o’clock position in the 17 degree and Neptune at 5 o’clock, also 17 degrees.  Saturn is at 11 o’clock squaring Moon – Jupiter and still opposite Neptune.  At this same moment, Mars, just above 9 o’clock at 11 degrees 56 minutes, is five signs from Uranus just below 4 o’clock at 11 degrees 55 minutes.  Every planet in this chart connects with one or more other planets except for the Sun, and this lack of solar connection suggests a period when our will and choices matter little.  We can react but we have little influence over the flow of events early this week.  This may be frustrating under a Scorpio Moon when passions and desires are felt more powerfully than usual.  We may feel bound to people we’ve outgrown but can’t escape from at this time.

Mercury moves on to connect with Pluto on Wednesday and we have new information available that was previously hidden, but the mood is lifting especially after the Moon ends her Void period and enters Sagittarius.

Next weekend we have another of those inner landscape changes as Venus enters Libra on Saturday and Mercury enters Scorpio on Sunday.  When both inner planets change signs so close together, we can expect to “feel” differently inside.  Both Mercury and Venus will be other-directed, focused on our partners and associates.  This is the normal autumn social season beginning when we begin to think about the holidays and who we’ll be with and who’ll be avoided.  Holiday card lists are being drawn up and pruned.

We’re past the point of maximal confusion that Jupiter square Neptune brings.  The next three weeks will give us a breathing space of lowered energy and stress.  There will be the normal seasonal tensions and flows, but the super-stress won’t return until late October when, as the U.S. political scene approaches the boiling point, Jupiter will square Saturn, Mercury will begin his retrograde period, and Neptune will change direction.  The fog will roll back in for Halloween.

Daily Forecasts:

Monday 25 September 2006

We won’t suffer fools easily today and we’re touchy and testy.  The truth is clear and in our faces and that may be a bit disconcerting.  Use care on the roads and treat your computer gently through tomorrow’s Mars – Uranus contact.

Tuesday 26 September 2006

After a stressful morning, we’ve made our minds up.  The sudden flare-ups of Mars – Uranus should quickly fade by evening when the Moon goes Void at 10:32pm/1:32am.  Things may end better than we expect and calm heads may prevail at the end.

Wednesday 27 September 2006

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 6:16am/9:16am and we feel much better, more energy from a healthy Moon – Sun angle.  Mercury is sharp and alert to significant details as he angles with Pluto.  Fibbers beware!

Thursday 28 September 2006

The upbeat Sagittarian Moon lifts all today and especially when credit is given to those who deserve it.  Praise and enthusiasm can turn around a tough situation today.

Friday 29 September 2006

Some last minute corrections and choices are necessary today before the Moon goes Void at 1:45pm/4:45pm.  Try to go with the feeling of end games being played.  Cross your social “T’s” and dot your “I’s”.  The Moon is Void until 3:01pm/6:01pm when she enters Capricorn.

Saturday 30 September 2006

Venus has exited Virgo and entered Libra overnight so we can stop nitpicking ourselves and each other for another year.  The First Quarter Moon creates a need to feel at home and grounded.  Family matters need our attention.  Plans and projects should be underway with resources and organization in place.

Sunday 1 October 2006

It’s hard not to future-trip under the Capricorn Moon.  Our mental hamsters are busy planning ahead fueled by last minute details as Mercury leaves Libra and enters Scorpio this evening.  This comes shortly after an 8 minute Void Moon before she shifts into Aquarius at 8:24pm/11:24pm.

Long Range Forecast:

November 8 – In the middle of Mercury retrograde (10/29 through 11/18) Mercury aligns exactly with the Sun in an “eclipse of Mercury”.  The last time this happened was May 2003.  Remember “Mission Accomplished?”  I’m concerned about major Mercury aspects occurring near Election Day in the U.S.  The 2000 election occurred on the day Mercury changed direction.  The anticipated widespread use of electronic voting machines and validity of their results may be an issue.  (Thanks to reader John Dawson for alerting me to this event.)

Long-Long Range Forecast:

April 14, 2009 – September 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn.  The end of business-as-usual politics.  The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.  The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s.  Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail.  Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car.  Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them.  What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
