The Week beginning September 17th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
I’m slightly “under the weather” as I write so this is an abbreviated report. Mars and Pluto in combination with the Sun and each other crank this week’s energy up. But we’re at the end of a long period of stress: eclipses, mutable cross, Mars – Uranus, and now Mars – Pluto. By Friday morning when Mars opposes Pluto, the peak will have passed and we’ll settle back down to what passes for normal in the beginning of the 21st century. Be very careful not to react in anger this week; the fire or Mars and deadly ferocity of Pluto are lurking ready to explode. We can make room and clean out to create new space. Some of us may even walk away from seemingly impossible situations, and sometimes that’s the right action.
At the global level, we can expect continued violence and mayhem, perhaps even more than usual. Mars and Pluto are often attended by sacrifice and death. Positively, there’s the possibility of breaking stalemated patterns of thought and policy.
I’ll discuss the Autumnal Equinox that comes this Sunday, next week. Meanwhile, stay cool, calm, and collected. And remember we’re at the end of hard times, moving into smoother waters and gentler breezes.
Be well.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
November 15, 2009 – March 21,
2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to
Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their
twilight times. The transition to
organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate
feudal mixture. (Thanks to Rob Ryan for
catching a typo in the date.)
September 24, 2012 – April 17,
2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major
hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second
half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come
true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water
and you don’t need a car. Plan to live
where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between
eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the
city.
