4 September 2006 – 10 September 2006

The Week beginning September 4th, 2006

Week as a Whole:

Pluto stations direct on Monday afternoon increasing the potential for surprising turns of events as deeper desires and motivations can surface and take control.  Pluto is a kidnapper and when he impacts a horoscope the native must deal with a situation that may seem like a prison sentence.  He changes directions, as do all the slower moving planets, twice a year and at these change points Plutonian archetypes are energized.  This Monday is not a sharp peak, but another of the slow swellings of power that are symbolized by the motions of the outer planets.  If we’ve buried away plans or desires for the past few months, they will gradually begin to reappear in our thoughts and dreams as Pluto rumbles into forward motion. They may also appear, if you’re self-observant, when you catch yourself sabotaging a project you really dislike but “should” be doing.

This emotional turmoil is background music to the Sun passing opposite Uranus on Tuesday and moving to connect with Jupiter on Wednesday.  This three-way between the Sun, Jupiter, and Uranus is further activated by the Lunar Eclipse on Thursday.  The Sun passes opposite Uranus every year to give us a chance to step outside our minds and habits.  There’s “revolution in the air” with Uranus in focus.  Various stati quo are to be shaken up this week.  And the sudden “luck” of the Jupiter - Uranus angle will bless and curse some of us again this week as the Eclipse sheds its bright light on this pattern.

The Earth, Moon and Sun form a straight line in space during an eclipse.  The life force of the Sun and Moon reflect back and forth and through the Earth.  It’s like the gods turned the amplitude up to 10.  Well-balanced and well-connected people soar with this high test energy.  For others, the wheels can fall off.  The police and emergency rooms are always busy on a Full Moon; this is an extra Full moon.  The signs involved, Virgo and Pisces, give us an indication of the issues that are likely to touch us.   Virgo is the experience of adjusting one’s behavior to fit in with the world.  Pisces is the experience of being adjusted by the world.  The key concept here is “adjustment” to an outer reality.  This eclipse may bring us new information about the people and lives outside our home and family.  We may encounter conditions that we can’t avoid or change and to which we must bend.  There is also in this duality the theme of image and reality.  Pisces is reality on many levels especially a surface level and a depth level.  The surface often masks a deeper and more powerful force beneath.  Think sunfish and “Jaws”.  There is chaos here in Pisces, confusion and mystical union as well.  Virgo, by contrast, is order we maintain like the slots in a spice rack.  Things are evaluated and assigned into a logical order.  Think computers and military hierarchy.  This Lunar Eclipse puts us in between these two forces and brings us people and events from which we can learn more about the roles we play in life’s drama.

Speaking of adjustments, 7 of the 10 planets in this week’s chart are in the “mutable” or adjusting signs.  This alone suggests that the major lessons of this week and its eclipse are about reacting and flexing with the world around us.  Reacting and adjusting rather than “staying the course” no matter what.  Reacting and adjusting rather than “cutting and running.”  Expect the Jupiter – Uranus combo to bring us a surprise in which something small suddenly reveals much wider implications and origins.  Things that seemed separate are connected by coming from the same source.  This is a watery connection that may expand to touch almost all of us somehow.  Stay on the Virgo side and be precise about your commitments otherwise assumptions made will have to be dealt with later.

Our day-to-day interpersonal tools, Venus and Mars, both enter new signs this week, Venus into Virgo and Mars into Libra.  There will be less of the grand and romantic gesture, less show and flair, and a general cooling as we begin to question the nutritive value of the people with which we associate.  I’m not talking cannibalism, but the feeling flow and energy we receive from those around us.  We’ll be especially critical as this week ends.  This week that began with Pluto rumbling into direct motion, ends with Mercury square to Pluto bringing his wild and dark energy back to mind and the understanding that there are often deeper motives in others and in ourselves.

Daily Forecasts:

Monday 4 September 2006

The Moon is Void from 7:24am/10:24am until she enters Aquarius at 11:15am/2:15pm.  The edgy slightly out of control feeling comes from Pluto standing still and the Sun moving to pass opposite Uranus early tomorrow.  Change a habit or pattern.  Staying with the old ways can make you itch.

Tuesday 5 September 2006

We’re finishing something personal as Venus crosses the last degree of Leo and enters Virgo.  We’re still doing “itchy and scratchy” as the future seems either very bright or very grim when the Moon aligns with Neptune still opposite Saturn.

Wednesday 6 September 2006

Take a chance today AFTER the Moon ends her Void period from 2:29am/5:29am until 11:56am/2:56pm.  Trust your feelings and ask for what you want.  Help and support are all around; they’re just not obvious.  You may begin to feel pulled in two directions.  That’s tomorrow’s eclipse coming on.

Thursday 7 September 2006

If your night is the U.S. day, you should see the Lunar Eclipse when the Earth’s shadow obscures the Full Moon at 11:42am/2:42pm U.S. PDT/EDT.  Go with the impulse to change; find a new way to fit into the world.  It’s a dharma shift for some and a karma shift for others.  Again the chance to finish something as Mars leaves Virgo and enters Libra this evening.  Remember the wisdom of the Fire Sign Theater:  “I can shout, don’t hear you” under this Jupiter – Uranus influenced sky.

Friday 8 September 2006

Another Void period begins the day from 2:01am/5:01am until 11:23am/2:23pm when she enters Aries.  But it’s an Aries Moon made easier by Mars in Libra.  Aggression is a reaction, counter-punching is the style for a while.

Saturday 9 September 2006

Everyone’s a bit cynical when Mercury squares Pluto.  We feel our own strong self-interest and apply the same mindset to others.  But bear in mind the old maxim that “cynicism is the fortress of the weak.”  Somewhere between Gullible’s travels and Fort Cynic lies the middle path of realism.  Think positive and long-term this evening when the Moon again touches the Saturn – Neptune opposition.

Sunday 10 September 2006

Yet another Void Moon begins the day from 1:52am/4:52am until 11:30am/2:30pm.  This has been a week to sleep in whenever possible.  After she enters Taurus, conditions are well-suited for major purchases and other earthly pursuits.  The steady Taurus energy will be  a welcome cool down after a very “buzzy” week.

Long Range Forecast:

September 22nd – A Solar Eclipse on the Fall Equinox extends the eclipse’s intensity over the autumn season. Politics and religion driven by unthinking emotion return with Jupiter square to Neptune again and Saturn still opposite Neptune.  This forms the tense T-square pattern that indicates power struggles and extreme political hard ball.  Sun, Moon, and Mars all in Libra may demonstrate that combat and competition are also forms of relationships.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

April 14, 2009 – September 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn.  The end of business-as-usual politics.  The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.  The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s.  Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail.  Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car.  Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them.  What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
