4 September 2005 – 10 September 2005
Week of September 4th, 2005
Week as a Whole:
This will be a quiet week…an aftermath…Pluto is still “on station” and slowly beginning to move. Expect an additional energy surge in the middle of next week when the Sun connects with Mars and Pluto, to be followed by Venus and then Jupiter at the Full Moon. Mars is slowly moving into the apex of a long-term “Y pattern” with Jupiter and Pluto on the fork ends. We’ve entered an extended period of profound change. Just as Pluto slowly gains speed moving forward, Mars is coming to a halt, and they’re connected to each other in their slow motion. Since both Mars and Pluto represent the forces of destruction and renewal, when they are linked we get a powerful surge of this energy. This highly charged Y pattern will be a background for this fall since it remains in effect through the Fall Equinox and the eclipse that follows on October 3rd.
It sells newspapers and astrology columns to spread fear – astrologers know it’s an occupational hazard – but hard times are here and they will be with us for a while. We will need to change our lifestyle and make sacrifices, and these can bring us together. Last week’s Virgo New Moon fell in a degree that symbolized the bridegroom removing the veil from the bride. Much about the social divisions in the U.S. and its leadership deficiencies have been revealed; the extended honeymoon is over. Virgo is a sign that loves to work and is ready to sacrifice and serve. Virgo favors self-discipline and order; this is an opportunity for all of us to work together. What we didn’t do in Rwanda and aren’t really doing in Sudan, we now have to do here. Or we can stop pretending we’re a society that cares about all its citizens with ‘Christian’ charity.
Pluto’s recent change of motion was opposite the Mars position and square the Neptune position in the U.S. national chart. Pluto has been slowly forming and re-forming this T square pattern over the past 2-3 years. The Mars – Neptune part of the U.S. chart is not our best feature. It’s handguns and macho posturing, shoot-from-the-hip statements, and perhaps most dangerous, an attitude that we can react quickly to solve most problems instead of preparing for them. Katrina, like 9/11, is an outside force upsetting the “what me worry” attitude we’ve indulged in.
The effects of last week’s disaster will take considerable time to become clear. The celestial patterns reflect the ripples of awareness as they sink into our minds and emotions. Anyone who’s been in a serious accident knows that you don’t feel the pain until some time has passed. This coming week more and more of the new reality we’ve entered will become apparent. With Venus entering her home sign of Libra to be joined on Monday and Tuesday by the Moon, we have a chance to regain our balance, and catch our breath. Libra is an air sign, the sign of all forms of relationship; since we all breathe the same air we are all connected invisibly to each other. Deep breaths are always calming and restore perspective.
By next week’s Full Moon, the magnitude of what lies before us will be clear. More on that next week. I wish us all the blessings of peace and courage.
Notice for Los Angeles area
readers:
Classes are out of session for the summer.
Beginning September 17th:
1:00pm– The astrology of relationships. We’ll explore what astrology tells us about how we meet and match with each other in partnership and in families. The class is open to people who know the basics of astrology.
3:00pm – A new Beginner’s
Class. There are no
prerequisites except an open mind and curiosity. This class will begin with the signs, planets, and houses and
develop their manifold relationships and interweaving. Unlike the last sentence, the class will be
in plain English. Call the New Age
Bible and Philosophy Center, 1139 Lincoln Boulevard, 310-395-4346 or me,
818-316-0702, for details.
Long Range Forecast:
On the website: A look at the high energy dates
for 2005.
September 22 – The Fall Equinox: Mars is slowing for his retrograde
period making a sharp and extended contact with Pluto and Jupiter. This
can symbolize out of control situations (Pluto and Mars) in which people are
trying to be fair (Jupiter in Libra). Saturn in Leo gets a shock from
Uranus in Pisces at the same time deflating ego balloons. The harmony
between Sun, Mercury, and the Moon supports fluid and clear communication as a
remedy. This fall has zigs and zags. See also the Solar Eclipse
below.
October 3rd - Five planets (Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Pluto and a stationary Mars)
form a Y pattern called the "finger of God" - guess which
finger. The eclipsing Sun and Moon are part of another "finger of
God" pattern with Saturn and Uranus. This is one of the corners in
time when we're faced with unavoidable choices. All planets, except for
Neptune, are involved in these patterns. Even if this wasn't an eclipse,
this is a remarkably intense configuration. The planets re-focus in ten days when the Sun enters the Mars pattern,
and Mercury and Venus connect with Saturn and Uranus.
Daily Forecasts
Sunday 4 September 2005
The Moon is Void all day from 8:39am/11:39am. Much becomes clear as Mercury enters Virgo and Venus connects with Pluto. Time to roll up our sleeves.
Monday 5 September 2005
With both the Moon and Venus in Libra, we can start to get some balance back in our lives. It’s easier to take a step back with this “air” energy and see how things relate to each other.
Tuesday 6 September 2005
More of the same as our perspective broadens and more help is available than previously imagined. Late in the day as the Moon aligns with Jupiter we’re concerned with fairness and justice.
Wednesday 7 September 2005
The Moon remains Void until 11:10am/2:10pm when she enters Scorpio. Then we see who really is committed to our projects and efforts. It’s time to assign tasks and make schedules. Be open to new ideas.
Thursday 8 September 2005
Mercury sweeps through the opposite point to Uranus this evening. What seems crazy at first may be the best approach. A sudden re-adjustment to changed conditions may be necessary. Don’t fight it.
Friday 9 September 2005
The Moon is Void all day again until 7:03pm/10:03pm. Time to rest and maintain routines. Tomorrow is more of a “work day.”
Saturday 10 September 2005
We’re pulled in many directions as the Moon forms a rough T-square pattern with Mercury and Uranus most of today. Gather the facts you need. Social and legal matters are moving to conclusions.
