2007 – 9 September 2007
The Week beginning September 3rd, 2007
Week as a Whole:
Monday starts the week charged with Mars in square to Uranus. Aggression and rumors of aggression to come are likely all week as the Sun moves to echo and extend Monday’s contact. We’re still pulled in several directions and under pressure. Sudden moves remain likely. The Sun squares Jupiter on Monday putting Virgo energy in conflict with Sagittarius; this is often a failure to achieve perspective. There’s either too much detail or not enough, but the need to reconcile “big” and “little” pictures won’t go away. At week’s end, Pluto stands still to resume normal motion and Venus reverses twenty-four hours later. Next Sunday the Sun is exactly opposite Uranus with the eclipse coming on Tuesday. I hope I’m wrong, but this could be the formula for very bad weather events and/or some military aggression.
You may have noted that the week begins with Mars square to Uranus and ends with the Sun square to Uranus. Since the energies come in waves, we’re looking at continuous Uranian pressure all week. Uranus makes things snap; pressure builds and builds and then suddenly releases. We can feel that in our lives when a situation becomes more and more intolerable until one day we’ve had it. And we tell the boss to do his own errands, or the neighbor to turn his stereo down, or more drastic expressions. Often the message to the boss or neighbor carries the force of the built up pressure and causes a big-time reaction. As individuals, we can feel this building pressure and takes steps to relieve it gradually. Unlike humans, nations are not self-aware, and situations can acquire momentum more like volcanoes or earthquakes to move relentlessly toward crisis.
Rumors are flying that the U.S. plans to take out Iran’s military. If we get past these next two weeks without military action, they will most likely remain just rumors.
The surges in Pluto and Venus this coming weekend should mark a turning point in the financial markets which have been unstable throughout the Venus retro period. Venus and Pluto are both associated with money: Venus with personal money and Pluto with shared or corporate money. Venus will not exit her “shadow” period until October 11th when she finally moves into new zodiac territory and two days later she aligns with Saturn, so those looking for a true “bottom” for markets may have to wait until then. But after this week, we can begin to trust our first reactions and feelings again. With Pluto standing still, those reactions may be intense.
Pluto and his sign Scorpio are always fully-committed in whatever they do. When this energy is high, there are no halfway measures, no “gray” areas. Add this to the intensity of the eclipse and you may notice many clenched teeth and tight fists around you as people struggle to control themselves. This is a time to remove the deadwood from relationships; if you’ve been going through the motions but no longer really care, this is time to let go and free yourself and others.
This combined energy package may bring many of us to a new self-awareness and subsequent re-orientation about long term goals and values. If you find yourself asking “what’s my purpose?” then you’re putting this energy to good use. Just because there’s no immediate or clear answer is not a failure or cause for depression. It may be easier to identify what’s not your goal and create room for growth by clearing the space. This, of course, is the healthy result of Mars, Uranus, and Pluto in life. They destroy and recycle so change and growth can occur. Small comfort if it’s your farm destroyed by the tornado or cruise missile.
We all need to remember that life just now is a bit like a Richard Donner action movie. There’s pounding background music, cars and crashing and leaping in the air, explosions happen, but at the end, and there will be an end coming, we’ll all wipe our collective brows and go on with life. The music will subside, relative order will return (this is the 21st century remember), and we will have more control over our lives and spend more time as actors and less as reactors.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 3 September 2007
Events abroad color the media with the Sun square to Jupiter. War is in the air with Mars square to Uranus. Happily, Venus can soothe some of the Martian fever with soft words and second thoughts. At least we can hope for this. Very buzzy under a Gemini Moon
Tuesday 4 September 2007
More of the same especially in the early morning as the Moon aligns with Mars and squares Uranus around 5:30am/8:30am. The night may be restless as the Moon opposes Pluto and then squares Mercury at the very last degree of Virgo.
Wednesday 5 September 2007
Mercury leaves Virgo to enter Libra and the Moon enters Cancer at 4:08am/7:08am. Expect more emotionality and the action to move within.
Thursday 6 September 2007
Find a way to put your energy into your work today. Your hunches are more often right than wrong. But the Moon is Void at 10:04am/1:04pm so make your choices early and then stick with them.
Friday 7 September 2007
The Moon enters Leo, ending her Void period, at 9:59am/12:59pm. Those dark dreams were Pluto standing still early this morning. So is the “heavy” tone coming from major forces in motion. Don’t get crushed, be agile.
Saturday 8 September 2007
At last Venus starts her return to normal. Librans and Taureans rejoice. The clutzy factor will go down and the money markets should regain their balance. The Moon – Venus alignment this afternoon could make for an island of happy sociability in these tense times. The electric tinkle you’re feeling is the Sun moving into opposition with Uranus tomorrow.
Sunday 9 September 2007
The Moon goes Void at 11:07am/2:07pm just as the Sun opposes Uranus. We’re coming into the vortex of the New Moon this coming Tuesday. Take the time to go within and find peace and quiet to understand your own reorientations. The Moon enters Virgo this evening at 6:10pm/9:10pm.
Long Range Forecast:
September 11th, 2007 – Solar Eclipse falls opposite Uranus and square to Mars. The next two weeks may hold events that express the violence of Mars and Uranus. We can hope it will be contained to a “shocking” media event with little loss of life. In any case the world will need to adjust to an altered reality. Severe weather is a strong possibility.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
November 15, 2009 – March 21,
2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to
Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their
twilight times. The transition to
organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate
feudal mixture. (Thanks to Rob Ryan for
catching a typo in the date.)
September 24, 2012 – April 17,
2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major
hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second
half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may
come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water
and you don’t need a car. Plan to live
where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between
eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the
city.
