23 July 2006 – 29 July 2006

The Week of July 23rd, 2006

Week as a Whole:

Don’t expect the situation in the Middle East to subside this week; in fact look for it to continue on into the fall when it may escalate in September.  (See the Long Range Forecast below).  The Sun has moved into a “fixed” sign and positions are hardening and leaders’ egos are felt to be at stake.  Leadership can make a difference under a Leo Sun.  We all respond to dynamic natural leaders a bit more strongly during the Leo phase.  Leo is when natural life expresses itself in physical beauty and intrinsic style…also known as “coolness.”  Think of how natural hierarchies are formed in high school; think how the “cool” people held court and had vassals and retainers; think tribal, it’s our natural organization.

There’s New Moon Monday night in the 3rd degree of Leo.  This is a new cycle beginning and much of the action is below the surface on the inside.  We should all take some time at this New Moon to ask ourselves how we’re unique and special.  There’s a balance to be found between selfish disregard for the needs and feelings of others and the proper care and feeding of one’s own well-being.  One common Leo blind spot is to assume that everyone wants what the Leo wants.  There can be an unconscious assumption that my way is the only way.  It’s not mean spirited, the Leo just doesn’t even conceive of a different choice than his/hers.  In an Einsteinian universe, the center is everywhere so it’s sometimes easy to forget that there are another six billion human centers when one’s own is so compelling.

The symbol for the number 3 degree of Leo is a “mature woman, keeping up with the times, having her hair bobbed.”  This can be interpreted in two ways.  We can refuse to accept the changes that age bring us and continue to feel and act in a youthful manner.  Or we can adopt the appearance of youth to fend off time’s (Saturn’s) force.  Plan B is the red Porsche, botox, boob jobs, and Viagra.  Plan A is refusing to limit oneself to a social norm.

One of the few contacts during this week comes on Wednesday when Venus connects with Jupiter from Cancer to Scorpio.  There is some chance here for people to extend their compassion and appreciate other points of view.  It’s a splendid time to open up with those close to you.  Our emotions emerge gracefully and powerfully.  Don’t be surprised to find your eyes suddenly moist at odd moments.  Be happy and grateful for these most human moments.

Late on Friday, Mercury stands still and then resumes normal motion across Earth’s sky.  Under the analytic Virgo Moon, we should make plans to take a second look.  Some critical detail may emerge once Mercury has made his change.  There may be a tendency to become befuddled by too much detail, to get lost in details on Friday.  Remind yourself to step back and re-think.

You’ll have plenty of time on Saturday because the Moon is Void until evening (PDT).  All in all, a quiet week in which prior conditions settle in for a long unwinding.

 Daily Forecasts:

Sunday 23 July 2006

An emotional water triangle dominates today.  We’re easily moved and shouldn’t resist.  Flow with the tides and avoid polluted waters.

Monday 24 July 2006

The Moon is Void all day until 5:24pm/8:24pm when she enters Leo and moves to the New Moon at 9:31pm/12:31am.  Take a quiet moment at the New Moon and celebrate yourself, your children, and your ability to love.  Get clear on what you need.

Tuesday 25 July 2006

If you’re struggling with those in authority today, remember that Leo elevates the ego tweak.  Politics and particularly stiff-legged politics may be a factor.  Logjams may loosen tomorrow.

Wednesday 26 July 2006

What we dream of seems far away this morning as the Moon passes opposite Neptune.  But a solution, perhaps a bit rough, may be found by late afternoon as the Moon goes Void connected with Pluto (5:32pm/8:32pm).  At the same time, Venus makes harmony with Jupiter and a solution can be glimpsed if not found.  Like the song said, “if you can’t be with the one you love, then love the one you’re with.”

Thursday 27 July 2006

Avoid your inner bitch this morning as the Virgo Moon aligns with Mars.  After that, get to work.  Much can be accomplished with this same energy.  Helpful criticism only, please.

Friday 28 July 2006

With Mercury standing still at high energy and a Virgo Moon that makes use of Mercury, expect to meet more than the usual number of princes and princesses complaining of peas.  Keep the juggling balls to a minimum and strive to keep your vision of the forest in mind.

Saturday 29 July 2006

The Moon goes Void at 6:05am/9:05am in square to Pluto.  You may wake up smacking your forehead as you remember a critical detail forgotten in yesterday’s mindbuzz.  The Moon is Void all day until she enters Libra at 5:27pm/8:27pm.  The evening may bring together an odd group that surprisingly gets on well.  Venus is moving to harmonize with Uranus tomorrow.  Let your weird self hang out.

Long Range Forecast:

July 5th – July 29th – Mercury undergoes his retrograde period.  Entering into contracts and major purchases are to be avoided.  Communications tend to be confused and important messages should be repeated and verified.  Often issues from the past re-surface.  Those born when Mercury was retrograde will enjoy this 3 week period.

September 22nd – A Solar Eclipse on the Fall Equinox extends the eclipse’s intensity over the autumn season. Politics and religion driven by unthinking emotion return with Jupiter square to Neptune again and Saturn still opposite Neptune.  This forms the tense T-square pattern that indicates power struggles and extreme political hard ball.  Sun, Moon, and Mars all in Libra may demonstrate that combat and competition are also forms of relationships.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

April 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn.  The end of business-as-usual politics.  The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.  The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s.  Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail.  Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car.  Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them.  What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
