16 July 2007 – 22 July 2007

The Week beginning July 16th, 2007

Week as a Whole:

Energy levels rise at the end of this week as Mars links with Uranus on Friday and approaches the square to Neptune early next week.  The energy of most planets seems to follow a bell-curve that maxes out when the planetary contact reaches its most exact relationship.  There’s a wave up, a rounded peak, and then a falling off.  Mars acts differently.  He’s always eager to go, so when he links with another planet the effects come early, rise to a peak at the time of exactitude, and then end…rather abruptly.  With two Mars contacts coming this Friday and next Tuesday we should feel his fiery agitation, and strong impulse to action increasing all this week.

(A heads up: there will be no report next week.  I’m moving next weekend and will be disconnected for a few days.)

The energy of Mars is a healthy part of daily life.  If something in our environment disturbs us and we make a change to correct it – like a squeaky hinge – we’re using our Mars functionality.  When someone pushes us too far and we react in anger – Mars.  When we take that double dare to leap off the garage roof: Mars.  Go to a high school locker room or athletic practice session for a high test dose of Mars.  I’ve seen young men literally bouncing off the walls to release the Mars pressure.  And that is key to handling this…releasing the pressure – not bouncing off the walls.  Mars seeks to break out or break through barriers.  His natural home sign Aries has the Y-shaped symbol or glyph that suggests the seedling breaking through the ground into the light.  Make sure that you have a challenge and release in your life this week.  Maybe an extra mile to jog, or better a new route with a new hill.  Learn a new piece of music and re-interpret one to integrate the Uranus energy as well.  Look for a group that will test you and bring you to new levels.

Breaking into the light is a higher expression of Mars.  We strive consciously or unconsciously to reach greater clarity and slough off the ignorance and fear that bind us and blind us.  Mars is the primal fire planet, the bringer of light as well as heat.  When he combines with Uranus, as he does this week, our creative juices flow.  We find innovative solutions that originate in a new point of view.  Light bulbs go on.  This is “hunch” time since Mars is in Taurus and Uranus is in Pisces. These are earth and water signs and do not operate through the intellect or normal communication systems.  Listen to your body and its feelings and go with what feels right even if it seems odd.  Looks for ways to use materials in unexpected ways.  Look for unusual investment opportunities (not all investments are made with money) and maybe walk away from one that looks great but doesn’t feel right.

Young men and Aries natives are inspired by heroes.  It’s the task of Aries to explore what can be accomplished by an individual human life.  Young people grow by emulating their heroes; our culture loses if it cannot provide healthy and challenging role-models for them.  During this Mars influence, take a heroic inventory.  Who inspires you, who do you look up to and, perhaps more importantly, who looks up to you and what do they see.

After Friday, the Mars – Uranus combo ends and Mars moves on to begin his square to Neptune.  Mars and Neptune are both in fixed signs, Taurus and Aquarius respectively.  It may seem the “manly” thing to be ultra fixed and immovable under this combination.  These two combine in any two signs to express as male plumage, the image of masculinity.  Muscle magazines, motorcycles, tattoos, 6 pack stomachs, “bring ‘em on” attitudes are common manifestations.  That is not to imply that  these are wholly negative.  Men need glamour and style just as women do.  More organic cultures have visible signs of rank and power worn by members of tribes and clans.  Visual symbols are very important to men with their visual bias.  This is a time to strut your stuff but in moderation.  No one wants to be the “all hat and no cattle dude”.

Mars, as noted above, is our spark plug for action and, sometimes, when he combines with Neptune, starting is difficult because Neptune often holds out the perfect image of our goal, holds it out so vividly that it seems impossible to attain.  Thus no action is taken and paralysis occurs.  The goal is so high and so far away it seems unreachable.  Most of us have accomplished things that seemed unlikely at the start, by steadily working away in small increments only to look back and marvel at how far we’ve come.  It helps to remember that it’s the journey far more than the destination that determines the quality of our lives.

Daily Forecasts:

Monday 16 July 2007

We may have to tone down our Leo roaring this afternoon as the Moon passes directly over Saturn at 3:32pm/6:32pm.  But solutions come later as she goes Void getting answers from Pluto at 8:55pm/11:55pm.

Tuesday 17 July 2007

By morning U.S. time, the Moon has entered Virgo and a very productive two days begin.  Cleverness breaks out with the links to Mercury around midday but the evening maybe filled with too much of nothing with the square to Jupiter.

Wednesday 18 July 2007

The Moon energizes the Mars – Uranus creativity today.  Work toward solutions that are inclusive and not flashy.  The right words will come this evening as the Moon and Sun are on speaking terms.

Thursday 19 July 2007

The Moon is Void from 6:44am/9:44am until she enters Libra at 12:53pm/3:53pm.  Energy flows from Moon to Venus to Mercury until Sunday morning.  All kinds of homework, housework, interior design and re-organization are supported.

Friday 20 July 2007

By this afternoon, our temporary genius hats have blown away as Mars moves past his Uranus connection.  But the inside focus continues with helpful contacts coming.

Saturday 21 July 2007

The Moon gets support from Neptune, Saturn, and Pluto today making deep change possible and less scary.  The day ends with the First Quarter Moon and we’re all trying to find a foundation in a secure place.  ET phone home.

Sunday 22 July 2007

Time to finishing up with the Sun leaving Cancer and entering Leo.  The Moon is now in Scorpio and the mood is deeper and more emotionally intense.  Go ahead, guys, preen a little.  Mars is moving to square Neptune.

Long Range Forecast:

July 28th – September 9thVenus is retrograde.  First impressions are not necessarily valid.  Give people a second chance.  Don’t make any major purchases unless you like standing in the return line.  Use this time to get to know what you need to be happy and at peace.

August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December.  As reported then, real political progress will finally take off.  Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.

September 3rd, 2007 – Saturn enters Virgo for a two and one-half year stay.  Given Virgo’s association with health and the military, we can expect to see some progress with U.S. health care legislation and some major changes in the military organization.  Perhaps a universal service requirement could be introduced.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn – Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.  Ex-hippies take note.  On March 4th, John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now."  The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.

April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn.  The end of business-as-usual politics.  The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.  The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

July 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s.  Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail.  Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car.  Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them.  What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
