22 July 2006
Week beginning July 16th, 2006
Week as a Whole:
This is a week of fire and water that brings a return of earth energy at its end. By week’s end our only air planet is Neptune and his imaginative energy is unlikely to provide the cool distance and objectivity we need from air sign planets. Fire and water mix to create steam…that’s passion with the potential to do great work or to explode out of a pressure cooker situation. We entered this week after several weeks that lacked the sustained practicality of earth signs. Only the Moon’s two and a half day progress through earth signs occasionally grounded us. When last week ended with Mars linked to Pluto in fire signs, we had heat and fire and violence.
This week begins with the Aries Moon moving to form a fire triangle that links her with Mars and Pluto. This fire pattern peaks around midday on Monday and thereafter loses its energy rapidly aided by the Moon’s entry into solid Taurus. Irritability is a good indicator that there’s too much fire flowing through your system and that it needs a better outlet.
Every sign has an energizing planet, a source that feeds the planets passing through the sign. Cancer is the Moon’s sign as most of us know. “Moody” is often applied to people born under Cancer suggesting that their emotions shift and change with time. This can be seen as a result of the Moon’s rapid motion through the signs. In her motion she sends energy into Cancer from a different sign every few days, hence the shifts. Furthermore, she changes shape waxing and waning over time. In all this she reflects the cardinal watery energy that ebbs and flows in life.
This week she’s sending the blazing fire of Mars and Pluto into the current Cancer planets on Sunday and Monday. Those two are the Sun and Mercury in retrograde. So we’re feeling fire into the very center of us and into our minds. When we look inside we see flames and light. When we feel tied down or trapped, this fire and water combination quickly builds up pressure to explosive levels. All around us we feel the heat and see fire and explosions.
The Sun and Mercury align over Monday night into Tuesday. This happens during every Mercury retrograde period when Mercury passes between the Earth and the Sun. It’s a time when we’re most subjective and most in touch with our inner voices. We can glimpse our deepest feelings and give them voice with this combination. But we should remember that our fact-finder, Mercury, is not 100 % reliable now and that when he aligns with the Sun we may be getting only those facts that fit our personal theories.
On Tuesday Venus enters Cancer joining the Sun and Mercury and the only air planet left is Neptune. All the inner planets are now in Cancer, all are emotionally based, all need to feel secure to function well, and all need to conquer fear. For a brief time on Saturday (until late afternoon) the Moon joins them in Cancer bringing the total to four of ten planets in the sign of the Crab. That’s a lot of watery emotional energy.
Fortunately, the Moon leaves Aries Monday evening and brings us to Earth in Taurus. This should settle down the violence and cool the fires already burning. People will begin to consider the costs of their actions and begin to look around for the comfort of the like-minded. This is followed on Thursday with her passage through Gemini.
Once in Taurus the energy flow goes back and forth between the Moon in Venus’s sign and Venus in the Moon’s sign. This is followed by another alternating energy flow when the Moon enters Gemini. This time the energy vibrates between the Moon and Mercury. Until Saturday morning some of us will find ourselves oscillating between fact and feeling, sometimes trying to think about how we feel, and other times, reacting emotionally to thoughts and words. Some of the underlying agitations of the current times are the other “back and forth” energy patterns that have been a long-term condition. That’s Jupiter in Pluto’s sign and Pluto in Jupiter’s. And Uranus in Neptune’s sign and Neptune in Uranus’s. This has been in effect for many months and is very de-stabilizing to the status quo. Hidden connections multiply, the collective content breaks through in social earthquakes and volcanoes. Boundaries are dissolving as if subject to strong solvents. For those who cling to the past, this is anxiety producing to the max. For those at work discovering their true self, illusions can melt away. This week is especially complex in this way.
On Saturday Mars and the Sun change to Virgo and Leo respectively. Mars entry into Virgo brings a return of consistent earth energy. Note that both are in their last degree most of the day. Many matters will reach a conclusion and remember that before the Sun changes signs, we find the Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus all in Cancer, all longing to be safe at home.
Daily Forecasts:
This Week:
Sunday 16 July 2006
Steady burning under the Aries Moon. Some control is possible in the afternoon as she connects with Saturn. But there’s more to come.
Monday 17 July 2006
Sparks are flying especially between 11:30am/2:30pm when the Moon connects with Pluto and 3:32pm/6:32pm when she connects with Mars. During these four hours she links them both. Try to re-ignite an old plan or project. Go back to the gym. Find something that warms your heart in the doing of it. The Moon goes Void at 6:33pm/9:33pm and enters Taurus at 8:44pm/11:44pm.
Tuesday 18 July 2006
We’re cooling a bit now, but our minds aren’t truly clear. We’re likely to be seeing what we want to see. Venus is shifting into Cancer and our interior experience is in flux. Expect to “change your mind” a bit.
Wednesday 19 July 2006
Even though progress may seem slow coming this morning, steady work pays off. Take time to review and review again if possible. The lunar “buzz” sending juice back and forth is in effect from now through Saturday. Take time to collect your thoughts and feelings. Don’t expect simple answers.
Thursday 20 July
2006
Overnight the Moon has entered Gemini and this is a day without obvious connections. But the “buzz” continues at a higher frequency with a mental component. Sleep may be difficult for some of us. The mental hamsters are working overtime.
Friday 21 July 2006
The Gemini Moon connects with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in that naturally expansive order today. And our thoughts may grow and expand in like fashion. Global events may seem to march on beyond our control.
Saturday 22 July 2006
Some things wrap up and we’re ready to turn a corner today as the Sun enters Leo and Mars enters Virgo. The Moon is Void for 11 minutes this morning before entering Cancer at 8:28am/11:28am. The focus on home and security continues and the flow is inward toward the New Moon coming Monday.
Long Range Forecast:
July 5th – July 29th – Mercury undergoes his retrograde period. Entering into contracts and major purchases are to be avoided. Communications tend to be confused and important messages should be repeated and verified. Often issues from the past re-surface. Those born when Mercury was retrograde will enjoy this 3 week period.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
April 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010
- Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual
politics. The nationalistic
dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.
The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the
result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square
angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
