25 June 2007 – 2 July 2007

The Week beginning June 25th, 2007

Week as a Whole:

Mercury remains retrograde this week and is passing between the Earth and the Sun on Thursday.  This is when our perceptions are “blinded by the light of the Sun”. We see what we want to see more than usual.  In passing we can note the CIA releasing the “Family jewels” papers, the struggle over Cheney’s documents, and even Bloomberg’s party switch as all illustrating Mercury retro’s influence.  But the major event of this week, even this month, comes Monday when Saturn and Neptune are exactly opposite for the last time of this long series.  This, too, has an echo in the Cheney issue reflecting the long-term Saturn – Neptune tension between the Leo executive and the Aquarian congress.  Borders and boundaries have been examined and tested during this long period that began last August.  Saturday’s Full Moon (see below) will still be bearing the influence of this historic aspect and it becomes personal with Venus moving into contact with it.  Finally, keep in mind that the elements of fire and water dominate this week with only Neptune in air and Mars in earth.

Fire and water form a volatile and powerful combination.  Too much water will put a fire out, too little generates a steam explosion.  Steam power still generates much of our electricity, and it does this by containing and channeling the water-fire power into useful work through turbines.  That is the key to using this energy for us.  We need to find a useful application to avoid personal forest fires or floods.  The Taurus Mars will help to counteract this volatility and suggest practical applications.  But the Aquarius Neptune is a less than completely useful air source.  We look to air for distance and cool objectivity; Neptune is tricky and can mask unconscious agendas with the appearance of reason and logic.  Mercury’s retrograde condition is another introspective element.  So we need to work very hard to keep our cool, sidestep rapid escalations, and not believe our own marketing.

Expect some tensions to surface Tuesday afternoon when the Moon makes a T-square with Saturn – Neptune just as she goes Void.  The Moon, Saturn, and Neptune are all in fixed signs and their mutual tension may manifest as turf and personal power struggles.  People may have unrealistic expectations, strong desires, and a sense of personal involvement.  The flexible warrior will survive and surpass.  It won’t help that Mercury is operating so that we think we said exactly what we heard in our heads…we think we said.  Sometimes the words never leave our heads.  We can assume that what’s obvious to us should be obvious to anyone.  Not a good assumption these days.  Nor is a condescending attitude helpful.

The Moon enters Capricorn on Friday after a long Void period and the earthy caution and social perspicacity of Capricorn may help calm the tone.  There is a Full Moon on Saturday in Capricorn with Venus linked to the Saturn Neptune axis.  She opposes Neptune on Saturday and then aligns with Saturn on Sunday.  Much of what has been “distant thunder” may come closer to us this weekend.  The Capricorn Full Moon always illustrates the tension between career and family, between public and private life.  The backyard barbecue and the pool call us when we need to put the hours in at work.  Vacation plans constrain our time.  Venus is a personal planet and her transit across the Saturn – Neptune line brings those boundary issues into our day-to-day life.  The Full Moon chart shows Venus and Saturn together opposite Neptune across the horizontal axis as well as the Sun opposite the Full Moon going from the 10 o’clock position to 4 o’clock.  The chart shows us pulled from two sides, forced to find a balance.  We may be separating sheep from goats, casual from close, worn out from vibrant.  People may seem to fall into two camps: those who promise much and those who have proven much.  This may not be an easy choice and we should avoid making false choices when none is necessary.

Over the next few weeks the Neptunian fog will dissipate and Saturn will quickly move to leave Leo for Virgo where he’s much happier (if Saturn is ever happy) and certainly more productive.  Much will be clarified by the end of summer, some of our vision will start to take form, and some will not.  An underlying theme of this week’s Full Moon is a question of identity and purpose.  Who do we think we are?  And where do we want to be going?  Take some time to find a balance in your life between time with family and time spent building a future.

Daily Forecasts:

Monday 25 June 2007

Time to get to the bottom of things.  The Scorpio Moon peers into secrets and puzzles and has no time for malarkey.

Tuesday 26 June 2007

Venus is tweaked by Uranus and the Moon early today.  Some of us may realize they’ve “had it” and are ready to move on.  Later pressure builds as the Moon moves to square both Saturn and Neptune inside 15 minutes shortly after 1:00pm/4:00pm.  The she’s Void at 1:23pm/4:23pm

Wednesday 27 June 2007

The Moon enters Sagittarius at 5:24am/8:24am ending her Void period.  And that’s all she does; there are no connections today, which leaves us free to make our own.

Thursday 28 June 2007

Unlike yesterday, we have a busy Moon and Mercury lines up between the Earth and the Sun.  Do not expect much objectivity from yourself or others.  But the late harmony with Moon and Venus should make for a pleasant evening.

Friday 29 June 2007

The Moon goes Void at 10:07am/1:07pm and ends her Void period at 3:05pm/6:05pm when she enters Capricorn.  Heavy dreams linger from last night into today.  But the earthy energy is calming.

Saturday 30 June 2007

With Venus opposite Neptune it may be easy to see what’s lacking in our social life and relationships.  Keep the half-empty/half-full concept in mind.  Use this to see what could be.

Sunday 1 July 2007

And if it can’t be, the Venus - Saturn alignment will make it clear.  This is an annual people pruning condition.  We’re all stepping stones on each other’s journeys.  Clinging to them just adds extra weight to the load.  The Moon has gone Void overnight and remains Void until 10:24pm/1:24am.  All those snappy ideas at midday may just snap, crackle and pop.

Long Range Forecast:

June 15th – July 10th - Mercury is retrograde and we can expect the usual “blasts from the past”, miscommunications, computers turned Frankensteins, weird weather, and an excellent time to re-start projects involving contracts, words, or organization.

July 28th – September 9thVenus is retrograde.  First impressions are not necessarily valid.  Give people a second chance.  Don’t make any major purchases unless you like standing in the return line.  Use this time to get to know what you need to be happy and at peace.

August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December.  As reported then, real political progress will finally take off.  Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn – Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.  Ex-hippies take note.  On March 4th, John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now."  The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.

April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn.  The end of business-as-usual politics.  The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times.  The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s.  Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail.  Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car.  Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them.  What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
