The Week beginning June 18th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
Yesterday, the week began with the first of two energy bursts: the Sun made its annual passage opposite Pluto. This is a time we’re reminded that people and situations can pass away from us without our having any choice. Sometimes its people we know or love who leave our life, sometimes we find that old habits and tactics no longer work. We’re given notice that life is not unlimited and endings happen. This message can come to us on the evening news as heroes die trying to rescue people from a fire, or a bomb blast takes its toll in an Iraqi mosque. Later this week, on Saturday, Uranus goes retrograde marking the second energy burst. This too is an annual event, and as another “outer” invisible-to-the-naked-eye planet, Uranus brings forces to bear on us from outside our daily life. Uranus is master of the unexpected; his energy erupts from built up tension to overturn the status quo and create a new situation. Radical politics often are the bearers of his lightning.
If you saw the Moon last night, you saw Venus shining brightly to the right and Saturn more faintly to her left. You can still see them tonight in the western sky after sunset. The bright star in the southeast is Jupiter. Monday the Moon exactly aligned with Venus and Saturn, blocking them from view as she revolved around the Earth. Many people may have found the Sun-Pluto energy combined with intense Moon-Venus-Saturn to be uncomfortable as they forced us to look at difficult parts of ourselves and our lives. Learning and growth is not always easy or fun.
But Venus links with Jupiter on Tuesday, so we should be able to shake off the Monday blues and look forward with hope and enthusiasm. This combo makes it easy to like people and think the best of them.
The Summer Solstice occurs at 11:07am/2:07pm on Thursday. This is a chart for the summer months, and it looks like another “bumpy ride”. Mars and the Sun linked to Pluto, Saturn is opposite Neptune, the Moon is opposite Uranus, and the retrograde Mercury is unconnected. This is a lot of stress and challenges; powerful change energy is indicated by the Moon opposite Uranus and the Sun still opposite Pluto. This is outer planet “globalization” touching the life centers of Sun and Moon. Saturn has been opposite Neptune off and on for several months driving home the gap between image and reality, promise and delivery, spin and fact. Aquarian Neptune groups have big ideas and they are thwarted by Leonine Saturn leaders who stonewall. In spite of all this, the harmony of Venus can bring us together through Jupiter’s understanding. Diplomacy and vision can win out. But no matter the style, our world will be changed, evolved, reborn after living through the Mars – Sun – Pluto experience.
On a personal level, this is a summer with real growth opportunities – don’t you just love those euphemisms? As individuals, we can channel the Pluto energy into liberating ourselves from our own trash; we can be reborn in large and small ways. Uranus can take us out of ourselves to show us which foot is nailed to the floor; old habits (lunar patterns) will be shaken up and new connections will become visible. We can visualize in detail a long-term future and use the Saturn-Neptune forces to sows its seeds.
The Neptune – Uranus globalization resonance will continue to drive us into consciousness of world humanity. Technology and nature combine here to dissolve boundaries in ways exciting and terrible. More and more of us are aware we’re hurtling toward a climate tipping point on whose other side lay unknown challenges. Uranus is a lightning god and his high energy points often use eccentric weather to show us that life is a delicate balance, not really under our control. We need to become flexible and fluid like the Aikido warrior, connected but unattached to outcomes.
On a more mundane level, this weekend’s and this summer’s Uranian energy can express as high-tech wonders and problems. His energy is electric so look to your toaster for wisdom.
This coming Sunday, Mars enters Taurus and we finally get some long-lasting earth energy. Saturn is EXACTLY opposite Neptune on next Monday, so don’t let dark thoughts cloud your skies this weekend. Think positive and see your vision clearly.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 18 June 2007
The Sun – Pluto acts like a plumber cleaning out the drains; unpleasant stuff surfaces, but the process is healthy.
Tuesday 19 5June 2007
Energy galore with a Fire triangle formed by the Leo Moon, Mars in Aries, and, yes, Pluto again. But the Venus – Jupiter link softens the edges and raises our hopes. Take the high road.
Wednesday 20 June 2007
Get to work under the Virgo Moon. Fix those Mercury retro goofs when the Moon helps out in the afternoon.
Thursday 21 June 2007
Solstice Day and Mars exactly links with Pluto. By now many of us will have had enough growth experiences to hold them for quite a while. The good news is that Mars surges (sorry about that word) before he’s exact and quickly fades like the young lover he is.
Friday 22 June 2007
The Moon ends her Void period and enters Libra at 4:$3am/7:43am. This is a “day after” that finds us looking for safe harbors, peace and quiet. Beneath the surface many will feel Uranus pressures building.
Saturday 23 June 2007
Uranus stands still today and somewhere there’s earthquakes and lightning both literal and figurative. We’re reminded the world is a wild place. Something our dogs and cats know.
Sunday 24 June 2007
The Moon is Void at 12:22pm/3:22pm until she enters Scorpio at 5:26pm8:26pm. By then Mars is in Taurus and has dug his heels in.
Long Range Forecast:
June 15th – July 10th - Mercury is retrograde and we can expect the usual “blasts from the past”, miscommunications, computers turned Frankensteins, weird weather, and an excellent time to re-start projects involving contracts, words, or organization.
July 28th – September 9th – Venus is retrograde. First impressions are not necessarily valid. Give people a second chance. Don’t make any major purchases unless you like standing in the return line. Use this time to get to know what you need to be happy and at peace.
August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December. As reported then, real political progress will finally take off. Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 -
Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of
business-as-usual politics. The
nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government
will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto,
a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
