June 2007
The Week beginning June 4th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
When Mars is in his home sign, Aries, as he is currently, we have more get up and go than usual. It seems easier to start projects or make changes in our life. New ideas come bubbling up; our minds seem endlessly supplied with “what if” considerations. Mars in Aries is the fieriest of fiery energies. He brings light and heat to all situations. But this week we have more than the pure Mars in Aries fire. Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Saturn is in Leo, both fire signs. Moreover, all three (Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) have moved into a triangle pattern with Mars moving from an exact connection with Jupiter on Monday to an exact connection with Saturn next Monday. See the chart below. Mars combined with Jupiter widens our horizons, lifts us to mountaintops, and fills us with optimism and enthusiasm for our future. Mars combined with Saturn can provide the focus and planning to bring that vision closer to reality. The Sun and Uranus are also linked into this grouping with the Sun opposing Jupiter on Tuesday and squaring Uranus on Saturday. This five-way configuration is a unique opportunity to expand our minds.
Notice in the chart for the beginning of this five-way all five planets in close degrees: the Sun at 13 Gemini, Mars at 15 Aries, Uranus at 18 Pisces, Jupiter at 15 Sagittarius, and Saturn at 19 Leo. Over this week, Mars will advance from 15 to connect with Saturn at 20; the Sun will advance to square Uranus at 18. The energy symbolized by connections between planets gradually rises as the planetary connections become more and more exact. This means that large patterns like this are effective over several days when the planets are near their exact positions. This energy surge began this past weekend as Mars moved to link with Jupiter and will continue through early next week, when he finishes by contact with Saturn. There can be too much of a good thing, and too much fire is obviously a potential problem. That which expands our minds can expand a negative imagination; it can escalate an irritation into a screaming match; it can turn road rudeness into freeway bumper cars. Bottled up, it can explode.
Explosion is what Uranus does best. He breaks out of old patterns, he kicks down walls, he challenges authority and tradition. When the Sun squares Uranus we inclined to do something risky or different. We want to be seen and heard as the unique individuals that we are. People or situations that try to put us in pigeonholes trigger our radical nature. All this by way of a caution. There are times and places in life where a complete revision is needed. But there are many more places where barn burning and emotional dynamite are excessive and lead to regret and messy cleanups. Not everyone will be ready to mentally expand at the same rate and the same time, so compassion and consideration is really needed this week. Some of us may feel threatened by sudden realizations, some may be uneasy at the pace, others gone “ostrich” working hard to ignore present conditions.
Remember that after Monday, there will be no “earth” energy planets to ground us until next Tuesday when the Moon enters Taurus. So we have no natural ballast to prevent rapid mood swings. Think sugar rushes. All planets will be in fire or air except for Mercury and Uranus after Venus leaves Cancer on Tuesday to enter Leo. Without earth, there may be frustration from seeing grand designs but not knowing how to take first steps or gather resources. We must remember we’re seeing high, wide, and far possibilities that can grow from the present. Only one of many futures will come to pass.
Finally, we need to plan rest periods this week. All this fire can burn itself out, so take time to slow down and cool off. Pace yourself for a long and intense week. Next week when Mercury goes retrograde, we’ll have three weeks to mull over what happened and what it means.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 4 June 2007
“Gentlemen and Ladies, Start your engines” The heat is on with Mars linked to Jupiter today. Get busy until the Moon goes Void at 2:43pm5:43pm. She enters Aquarius at 4:15pm7:15pm and our link with earth is over.
Tuesday 5 June 2007
Try not to push your ideas too hard today, although the Sun Jupiter opposition under an Aquarius Moon will have us sure we’re right and know much better. Be kind to the idiots around you.
Wednesday 6 June 2007
A bright future seems so close and the obstacles so obvious. Try to keep in mind that ideals are there to lead us in a direction and are rarely attained. The Moon goes Void at 6:46pm/9:46pm entering Pisces at 10:24pm1:24am.
Thursday 6 June 2007
A calm and dreamy day on the surface. Your hunches are more right than wrong today with the Moon connected with Mercury. Emotions are just below the boiling point.
Friday 8 June 2007
“Woke up this morning with a boom-boom in my hand” goes the song. The Moon activates the Sun – Uranus square and moves on to square Pluto. Let go of old stuff, your fingers could get hurt if you cling.
Saturday 9 June 2007
Back in the fire again with an Aries Moon. Plan an active weekend; put your body in motion to channel the fire. Try a new approach to an old problem and avoid those who put people in slots. Do anything but the same-old same-old.
Sunday 10 June 2007
Here is where the rest periods will pay off. Fire continues with its highest intensity around midday (Pacific Time). Saturn is in play helping with plans and timetables, and maybe even preventing really extreme excesses. Tomorrow it cools off and gets substance with the Taurus Moon in effect.
Long Range Forecast:
June 15th – July 10th - Mercury is retrograde and we can expect the usual “blasts from the past”, miscommunications, computers turned Frankensteins, weird weather, and an excellent time to re-start projects involving contracts, words, or organization.
August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December. As reported then, real political progress will finally take off. Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 -
Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of
business-as-usual politics. The
nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government
will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto,
a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
