28 May 2007 – 3 June 2007
The Week beginning May 28th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
The single highlight for this week is the Full Moon Thursday evening in the U.S. And if you examine the chart below, you’ll find no large pattern of planets all in the same degree number. No T-squares of high energy. You might also notice that there are no earth energy planets, and that’s a condition we’ve been under off and on for many months. The lack of earth is filled by loading up the fire planets. Fire, in astrology, is life and heat, but light is also central to its essence. For thousands of years, until the 19th century, fire was the only source of light for humanity. SO in astrology this abundance of light points to growth in understanding, growth in awareness, Eureka moments large and small. This is a time of illumination and vision. The time will come for down-to-earth manifestation next fall when Saturn and Pluto both enter earth signs, Virgo and Capricorn respectively. Now people are waking up to climate change, to a failed political process, to the need for a social safety net. But real action comes later.
Another feature of the Full Moon chart is what astrologers call “past aspects.” Most of the slow outer interplanetary contacts are in the past or way in the future. We’re in a period “AFTER” major events and decisions. We may not like the outcome, but the point of change has passed. Coming toward us is Mars moving into a Fire triangle with Jupiter and Saturn that begins next week. I don’t expect the current Attorney General to be in office after Mars ignites the legal system (Jupiter) and its rules (Saturn). There’s a chance coming to go back and renew decisions made in the past. The media (also Jupiterian) may be shaken up and re-organized. Expect passion and oratory, but little concrete action. Problems can be perceived and defined, but here again the lack of sustained earth will make real solutions something for the future.
Those of us born around April 10th, August 10th, and November 10th will feel this fiery trio’s influence the most. This is a once in a lifetime chance to plot a new course that provides a creative outlet for your individual contribution. You can break with the past and past thought habits during the next two weeks. You may also be restless and irritable, especially if you’ve compartmentalized some part of yourself.
Mercury moves into Cancer this Monday, an annual event. Our thinking and perceptions are now slightly colored by our emotional needs and fears. On the other hand we can express our feelings more directly with family and others with whom we feel safe. Taken another way, if you’re trying to find out how someone feels, make them feel safe if you want to hear their truth.
There’s a Full Moon in Sagittarius late every spring when the Sun is in Gemini. Gemini and Sagittarius are the thought process energies of the zodiac. Gemini is the curious information gatherer, and Sagittarius loves put forth a theory or meaning that organizes/explains the facts. Too much of either leads to imprecise conclusions. Communication systems are emphasized and often in the news around this Full Moon. So too are the legal system and established religions. Gemini is associated with how we organize our daily lives, how we do our errands, how we organize our kitchen cabinets. Sagittarius conversely, symbolizes how we organize our society, the social hierarchy, and the international neighborhood.
In addition to reflecting the abundance of fire energy, this Full Moon has an emphasis on the “mutable” signs. Half the planets, Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are all in the adjusting and adaptable signs of Gemini, Sagittarius, and Pisces. These zodiac signs are areas of human experience in which we react to, compensate for, and accommodate people and situations around us. This is where we flex in life, unlike the “fixed signs” where we resist change, and the cardinal signs where we initiate it. So this Sag-Gemini Full Moon is largely about adjusting to the world and its reality. For the U.S. it suggests a need to react to commitments made and gather the resources available to meet them. Information about hard choices relating to commitments may be illuminated this week.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 28 May 2007
The Moon is Void until 10:11am/1:11pm when she enters Scorpio. This Scorpio Moon will add depth of feeling to the Memorial experiences in the U.S. The death of every soldier, and indeed, every Iraqi is the death of someone’s daughter, son, father, or mother.
Tuesday 29 May 2007
A quietly intense day with sudden tears possible late in the evening.
Wednesday 30 May 2007
The Moon goes Void at 10:11am/1:11pm (again!!) and enters Sagittarius in the evening at 10:07pm/1:07am. A long Void 12 hour period. Get things started early, before the Moon goes Void, then coast and follow routines and plans.
Thursday 31 May 2007
Energy rises along with expectations throughout the day leading to the Full Moon. She’s basically Full when she rises tonight. By the way, Blue Moons have zero astrological significance. They’re an artifact of the Gregorian calendar system. Remember that on all Full Moons, people are highly charged and situations can blast off unexpectedly.
Friday 1 June 2007
A busy day when the surfeit of fire will be felt. Try not to be one of the ones running in circles shouting and waving your arms. Look for a steady period around midday as the Moon touches Saturn.
Saturday 2 June 2007
The Moon again goes Void early this morning, this time aligned with Pluto at 4:29am/7:29am. Dark, even spooky dreams may come. She enters Capricorn, an earth sign at last, at 8:09am/11:09am. Try to spend some time making serious plans and schedules, especially those concerned with home and family.
Sunday 3 June 2007
The Moon squares Mars near noon, so get out and get physical in the morning. Ask for help from a friend, or offer it, in the evening. Do a favor now and it will pay off in the future in unexpected ways.
Long Range Forecast:
June 15th – July 10th - Mercury is retrograde and we can expect the usual “blasts from the past”, miscommunications, computers turned Frankensteins, weird weather, and an excellent time to re-start projects involving contracts, words, or organization.
August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December. As reported then, real political progress will finally take off. Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn – Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966. Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th, John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car. Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
