May 2007
The Week beginning May 14th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
Finally we have a week NOT filled with historic levels of energy and change. We’re riding the down slope toward the New Moon on Wednesday, itself normally a quiet period best used for introspection. Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus remain linked at or near the 18 degree of their respective signs, but they have already passed through the point of maximum focus. Mercury will cause us to re-think recent events as he connects with this trio late this week forming a T-square pattern with Jupiter and Uranus.
But like all periods drawing in toward a New Moon, we’re dealing with consequences rolling back on us. Choices made before or at the Full Moon set directions and commitments; now we’re reaping the harvest. This is the end of the regular lunar tidal flow of events that will be seeded again this Wednesday at the New Moon in Taurus. This New Moon falls on the 26 degree of Taurus; this degree bears the symbol of the “Caballero serenading the Senorita”. And, like many things Taurus, there is a link with tradition and sense of solidarity implied here. This is an image we all relate to and understand, and in doing so we feel joined at the root. The image further suggests that we reach out and give honor and art to those whom we admire and seek. We offer a sensual gift in the hope of earthly pleasures.
Taurus is about what we hold dear and about the talents and resources we command as individuals. These can be money, of course, or a beautiful voice, skill as an artist, fine taste in color and texture. Look at what your Taurus friends are wearing. Their clothes are often very well-made and have a unique fabric weave or color. Taurus has strength in endurance and immovability. They resist change and function as anchors when the fire, air, and mutable signs whip around like balloons on strings. The Taurus New Moon is a time for all of us to find what grounds us and gives us pleasure in our life, what makes us feel powerful and in control. We can inventory and honor the special gifts that each of us brings to the party. It feels good now to be ordinary, one of the “herd”, safe from the predators and fierce winds of change that have been blowing so strongly of late. Taurus is the sign of a low-profile with steady focus and purpose.
On Tuesday, before the New Moon, Mars will exit from Pisces (Aries people will feel released from bondage) and enter his home sign of Aries. Beginnings will be easier, action no longer “sicklied over with the pale cast of thought”, and physical activity reinvigorated. This recharge comes every two years and holds the promise of many new leaves turned over, and the possibility to view the world with a child’s eyes once again.
The basic pleasures of Taurus and Aries will be upstaged by Mercury’s contacts with Jupiter and Uranus this coming weekend. Mercury opposes Jupiter Saturday evening and squares Uranus Sunday afternoon. This T-Square pattern will really begin making itself felt Friday. Both Jupiter and Uranus are “expanders” especially mind-expanders. Mercury is now in Gemini, a truly “mental” sign. Expect to be made aware of unexpected consequences and connections from this pattern. Try to resist the impulse to make “too much of nothing”. Keep a handle on your inner prattler. But do enjoy thinking with a leaping mind. And enjoy this respite from the Aquarian onslaught.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 14 May 2007
Quit work when the Moon goes briefly Void at 5:24pm/8:24pm. She enters Taurus at 7:48pm/10:48pm and we can all take it down a notch or two.
Tuesday 15 May 2007
Mars enters Aries early this morning and, with a Taurus Moon, go for it if you feel like frisking and gamboling across the grassy meadows in your life. Treat your body to something special.
Wednesday 16 May 2007
The Moon squares Neptune early and if you can linger in dreamland this morning, do it. The New Moon comes at 12:27pm/3:27pm and goes Void. Long slow thoughts and feelings in the afternoon until she enters Gemini at 7:34pm/10:34pm. Meditate this evening on that senorita that needs a song.
Thursday 17 May 2007
Late today when the Gemini Moon pre-ignites the Mercury T-square, it may be difficult getting those mental hamsters to stop their wheels. Buzz Buzz Buzz.
Friday 18 May 2007
A day of discovery and perhaps a shock or two for some, hand to mouth, “I never thought of it that way!” Keep an open mind and learn. It’s easier to learn when listening, also frequently less painful than those open-mouth insert-foot lessons. The Moon goes Void at 5:57pm/8:57pm opposite Pluto and enters Cancer at 8:38pm/11:38pm.
Saturday 19 May 2007
We may feel split between the Cancer feelings and the mental charge coming from Mercury – Jupiter – Uranus. In making decisions remember head and heart both need to be consulted today.
Sunday 20 May 2007
More of the same, although late today Mercury leaves the T-square and moves toward a focusing connection with Saturn that comes tomorrow. An action plan is coming.
Long Range Forecast:
June 15th – July 10th - Mercury is retrograde and we can expect the usual “blasts from the past”, miscommunications, computers turned Frankensteins, weird weather, and an excellent time to re-start projects involving contracts, words, or organization.
August 5th, 2007 – Saturn finally completes the contact with Pluto he almost made last December. As reported then, real political progress will finally take off. Much of the fall’s hopes and expectations can begin to be realized.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 -
Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of
business-as-usual politics. The
nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government
will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto,
a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
