7 May 2006 – 13 May 2006

Week of May 7th, 2006

Week as a Whole:

Interpersonal affairs are swirling this Sunday. Situations become emotionally charged as Mars connects with Jupiter in the early morning followed by connecting with Uranus in the late afternoon. Our feelings are tender and our reactions tend to be extreme. At the same time, Venus links with Saturn and we're inclined to be critical and cautious, perhaps in situations where we should be generous and forgiving. Finally and remarkably, Mercury makes the square angle to Saturn just six minutes after the Venus – Saturn connection. We can arrive at clarity if we can let go of assigning blame and accept responsibility.

Mercury, Venus, and Mars are planets whose energies we use as we relate to each other. We reach out and find common ground using Mercury's communicator function. We see how we're alike and how we differ. We see how our minds fit together. Venus describes our feeling responses, our inner sense of comfort and harmony with each other. Venus is our way to adjust to the needs of our partners. Finally, Mars is our desires and self-assertions. When he's strong, as he is this Sunday, we really want what we want. We use Mars when we reach out to “touch someone” and we use Mars when we push them away.

So when we find Mars being highly charged by Jupiter and Uranus and Mercury and Venus being restrained by Saturn, over-reaction can result. We can feel trapped and under appreciated. We can feel that we're not getting what we want and need because this Mars enhancement makes our desires so intense. If our passion can find an outlet, the potential for this problem goes away. Mars explodes when he's contained and can't find a release.

Energy levels drop quickly late Sunday evening and we regain our balance when the Moon enters Libra Monday evening.

Mid-week, the Sun makes his semi-annual square to Neptune and we're given a glimpse of our “perfect world.” This can be used to understand what that perfect world would be. It can be miss-used if we feel miserable because our world is not perfect. Our imagination can work against us so we might be seeing a “worst case” vision of the future. With the Sun in Taurus and Neptune in Aquarius, there can be conflict over money and plans for its spending. We can feel stuck in a situation and disconnected from a forward path. It helps to keep in mind that Neptune can create a fog and so nothing is seen clearly. If we're not careful or unconscious our imaginations can work against our best interest.

This is followed on Thursday by Mercury passing opposite to Jupiter. This, too, is a regular event. Mercury and Jupiter are designed to work together to provide details and an overview, data and policy, tactics and strategy. When they are opposed, we have the chance to see where our policy doesn't fit the facts. It's a time to step back and tune up our vision of how the world works. Shortly after the Jupiter contact, Mercury moves on the make a helpful connection with Uranus. Uranus is the “outside the box” planet. Aquarians and people with Uranus prominent all are outsiders to a greater or lesser degree. This Mercury-Uranus should allow us to integrate the corrections that arise from Mercury opposite Jupiter. Simply put, this a an excellent learning opportunity.

And this sets up the Full Moon on Friday. All Full Moons put a bright light on current matters. Evolving issues often come to a head. Manifestation occurs. Decisions are made. This Full Moon is in Scorpio and the central issues involve money and shared power. We will feel a need to confirm our commitments and feel solid in the commitment of those nearest to us. Anything halfway will be unacceptable. In this Full Moon chart you can see that Mercury and Jupiter lie close along the Sun-Moon axis that runs from the 1 o'clock to the 7 o'clock positions. Note also Neptune making a square angle from the 10 o'clock position. Since the Sun and Moon are later (higher numbers) in their signs than Mercury, Jupiter, and Neptune this Full Moon is illuminating events in the recent past.

Daily Forecasts:

Sunday 7 May 2006

A roller-coaster day with extremes of experience and emotion. Choose your words carefully and trust in what's been working in the past. Keep in mind that this level of agitation will reduce overnight. But use this Mars emphasis to make clear your deepest and true desires.

Monday 8 May 2006

The Moon is Void from 10:48am/1:48pm until 6:10pm/9:10pm when she enters Libra. Today is an aftermath, we're still reverberating from yesterday and still tender. The healing really begins once the Moon enters Libra this evening.

Tuesday 9 May 2006

A welcome calm day when we regain our balance.

Wednesday 10 May 2006

A night of bright and symbolic dreams sets the stage for the Sun square to Neptune. Imagination cuts two ways and cuts deeper if we're unconscious. Almost any situation takes tone and meaning from our imagination. Think positive, try to banish negative images. Put your fingers in your ears and go “Lalalalala” if you have to.

Thursday 11 May 2006

The Moon, Void overnight, enters Scorpio at 5:25am/8:25am and moves to make a square angle with Saturn in the afternoon. Don't hide from uncomfortable facts. They do more damage if ignored rather than addressed and handled.

Friday 12 May 2006

The Moon is Full in Scorpio just at midnight on the U.S. west coast. That's 11:51pm/2:51am. During the day the Moon has swept through contacts with Jupiter, Uranus, Mercury, Mars, and Neptune before she's Full. Tonight is when we can learn and assimilate the lessons and experiences of the recent past . The Moon goes Void at the Full.

Saturday 13 May 2006

And she stays Void until 1:56pm/4:56pm today when she enters Sagittarius. Those of us who didn't speak up earlier this week have another chance this afternoon when Mercury links with Mars. Say your truth with love.

Long Range Forecast:

June 22nd – Jupiter and Saturn represent the forces of culture and politics in our society. When they interact in square as they do on the day after the Summer Solstice, a shift in the political winds is often the outcome.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

April 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car. Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
