9 April 2006 – 15 April 2006
Last week the forecast discussed the meaning of Mars passing opposite Pluto which occurred early Saturday morning EST. “Endings and beginnings” were mentioned along with “surgery” and the need to destroy in order to create. Pluto, as Lord of Death and regeneration, is usually presented with some foreboding and often rightly so. But last week, we had several examples of how Pluto's energy is expressed in healthy ways. Sufferers of Spina Bifida, whose bladders are damaged by the disease, now have hope coming from the regeneration of new bladders grown outside the body and re-implanted. In his dark world, Pluto is often the keeper of secret commitments, and the Judas Scrolls surfaced casting the death of Jesus in a new light. So did the exposure of GWB as a leaker of secrets despite his previous rhetoric. Sometimes disease must be excised; Tom Delay resigned. And, yes, there were examples of death and destruction: tornadoes in the U.S. and the largest single bombing incident in Iraq this year.
This is behind us now, and so is this Spring's eclipse season. While the globe-shrinking energies will continue to spark change and break down old structures, the level of tension and super-high energy is subsiding to more “normal” levels.
There is a Full Moon in Libra on Thursday. We have this Full Moon every year in the spring. It's an opportunity to balance our own personal needs and choices with those of the people around us. The Libra Moon brings the awareness of the “other” into our minds. It can be the realization that we must consider our partners before making a decision; it can be the realization that we have enemies in the world who work against our interests. Like the great lesson of adolescence, we learn again that other people are real, just as real as we are. We need to find balance in our social lives, neglecting neither self nor other. The cool air of objectivity is just what's needed to temper the fiery impulsiveness of the Aries Ram.
The Aries Sun gets energy from Mars, and you will note that Mars in this chart (at the 10 o'clock position) is in the very last degree of Gemini. The horizontal axis, in Cancer/Capricorn is also in the last or 29th degree. These ending degrees indicate a situation or situations coming to a close. An endgame is in play. Mars is also part of a high-tension T-square pattern that includes Pluto (opposite Mars) and Mercury at right angles to both from the 1 o'clock position. Mercury is information, Pluto is secrets and power, Mars in Gemini is exploding words; so I expect the “leak” saga to continue into this week with additional revelations to come. We should be aware of our own potential “leaks”. Words can slip out quickly and thoughtlessly only to necessitate repairs after the damage done. Mercury is now is Pisces, and it's easy, too easy, to assume that we are understood when in fact our precise meaning has not been communicated. The tricky part of Pisces is that sometimes whole chunks of meaning pass between us in a single word or gesture, but just as often that's our imagination. So it behooves us to apply the Virgo antidote and work hard to be precise and check our facts.
This chart also shows a healthy combination of stressful connections and helpful connections. Where Pluto is stressed by Mars and Mercury, the Sun is set to allow us to integrate his changes and choose progress and growth. Mercury's stress can be relieved by directly expressing our feelings, even at the last minute. Waiting until the very end to assess our feelings may be the best policy this week. The Libra Moon will soften the hot language of Mars in Gemini and do it with the compassion of Venus is Pisces. Venus and Uranus are together in Pisces this week, suggesting that sudden burst of empathy and understanding can come over us. You may find yourself moist-eyed in the Blockbuster and not know exactly why. Perhaps it could a wordless realization that we're all in this together, it's one big boat we're on sailing through space.
Finally, the only unconnected planet this week is Saturn who is still relatively motionless having ended his retrograde period last week. He stands alone in this chart, a political leader on the spot, frozen in place, just beginning get in motion. People in power are feeling very visible and sense a reckoning is coming.
Daily Forecasts:
We have earth energy today while the Moon traverses Virgo. This can balance all the Pisces planets by making clear the need to choose carefully since we become what we eat.
More of the same, a good day to get to work. It feels good today to be useful and to be put to work. Find your proper dharma, that which you alone can give to the universe.
The Moon is Void from 7:59am/10:59am until 10:47am/1:47pm and in this early period we may feel irritable and crabby. Snap not lest ye be snapped at. Once the Moon enters Libra and ends her void period, we mellow out.
This is one of those days when there are no connections. Life goes on, of course, but don't expect any Eureka moments. Mercury is moving to square with Pluto, and the overall energy level is rising as it always does preceding a Full Moon.
The Moon is Full this morning at 9:40am/12:40pm. Meditators get set before this moment to catch the energy as it's peaking. Mercury squares Pluto later in the day and we want to keep our verbal pistols holstered unless absolutely necessary. The Moon goes Void at 3:41pm/6:41pm and a little later, Mars enters Cancer. Just after the Moon enters Scorpio at 10:08pm/1:08am she connects with Mars. Expect an emotional surge late this evening.
The Scorpio Moon makes harmony with Venus and Uranus later today. We understand more with our feelings than with our heads. The right group of people can light flames in hearts and spirits.
The Moon goes Void today at 11:29am/2:29pm as she makes the square to Neptune in Aquarius. We may find ourselves alternating between immersion in our feelings and events and suddenly stepping back to observe. Thinking and feeling are mutually exclusive. But the connection of the Aries Sun with Pluto, that perfects tomorrow, can help us integrate this paradox and grow forward.
Long Range Forecast:
May 4th - Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus form a high-energy water triangle as the Sun opposes Jupiter. Emotions are hair-triggered and can easily escalate out of control. And control or commitment may be an issue that provokes an emotional response.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
April 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car. Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
