2 April 2006 – 8 April 2006

Week of April 2nd, 2006

Week as a Whole:

By Wednesday evening, when Venus enters Pisces, half the planets will be in water signs: the Moon will be lingering in Cancer, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus in Pisces, and Jupiter in Scorpio. When water predominates our boundaries tend to dissolve and we find more and more in common with each other. Emotions connect us wordlessly through facial expressions, body language, and various other ways most of which are non-rational. We can try to keep our Western mindsets intact by intellectualizing, but the real action in our lives is going on below our necks...beneath the surface.

We all know we're mostly water in these bodies and we have that water in common with each other. When water rules, we need to take special care to keep our waters pure and clean. Water osmoses and cleanses, but in doing so it absorbs energy/feelings from its environment. If you are a “water-person” you probably already know that you can pick up both positive and negative energy from your surroundings. And then you will also know that you need to listen to your body and its feelings, and when it says it feels pollution coming on, it's time to leave.

Another boundary water issue, well-known to especially by Pisces people, is the tendency to take on other peoples' pain and suffering. The occasional dip into a tear-jerker movie is a cathartic experience that many of us enjoy. But emerging from a shopping trip to the supermarket as a limp rag is not so fun. Here again the answer comes from controlling your input and setting. And the reverse can work as a cure. We all have places, music, art, and people that make us feel healthy and happy. Some of us have “home altars” at which we sit in peace and quiet. In high water times, these healing agents can be used as remedies and antidotes.

On Tuesday with the water rising, Mercury makes a harmonious contact with Jupiter. On a personal level, we can give voice to our inner feelings. Only a few words are necessary to be understood. And this understanding is more than an intellectual communication. Empathy is the watch word. On the flip side of this, it may be difficult to convey ideas and opinions without an emotional component. And if trust is lost, the darker side of Pisces and Scorpio will take over: secrets and lies, doubt and suspicion.

Also on Wednesday, Saturn stands still to resume normal forward progress through the zodiac. As the week begins, his natural arena of politics and power will be heating up. Politicians will sense a sea-change coming with their feelers and begin scurrying more visible positions. Social power will be shifting as it does twice a year when Saturn changes direction. Promises and favors will be made and called in. We will all be more conscious of how we spend our time and with whom, taking cautious little goat steps to find the safest and most prominent positions.

After Wednesday, we will begin to feel the approaching Mars – Pluto opposition that becomes exact early on on Saturday morning in Washington, D.C. This is not a warm and fuzzy feeling. Mars makes tense contacts with Pluto roughly every six months. These contacts come at times when some area of our world needs re-construction, where old structures need to be demolished so that new ones can be built. If you are caught in this process, the last sentence may seem hugely euphemistic. It's difficult to talk about this without adding fear to our world which is already polluted by the media with exaggerated anxiety. As I've said before, fear sells – sells newspapers, sells predictions.

Seen as a whole, these Mars – Pluto times are endings and beginnings. And as individuals, we can use this energy to take out the trash in our lives, to perform a surgery on a vestigial appendage. The surgery is not fun, but afterward we're free and healthier than before. As individuals, we can recognize that the potential for violence and anger is higher than normal and conduct ourselves with extra courtesy. We can be alert for those who view their automobiles as penile extensions of their egos.

At the same time, as you can see in the chart, the Moon has moved into a T-square pattern opposite Neptune and square to Jupiter. So we can expect another salvo in the symbol wars we've seen these past months: the Dubai port controversy, and lately the immigration agitation. Race and economic anxiety fuel this debate. And the voices of moderation and reason can be easily drowned out by those whose eyes are dazzled by Neptune's extreme images. Beneath all the rhetoric, astrology clearly tells us that national borders are dissolving as the world becomes one. This is Neptune in Aquarius and Uranus in Pisces. They will be there for several more years and when Neptune enters Pisces and Uranus enters Aries around 2010, this unification will continue. So will the globally shared experiences of climate change.

More peaceful and healing weeks are just ahead, so hang on and hang in there.

Daily Forecasts:

Sunday 2 April 2006

The Gemini Moon keeps our mental hamsters busy, maybe too busy tonight when the Moon squares Mercury around 10pm/1am.

Monday 3 April 2006

The air Moon continues to allows us a step back from the whirl of life all day today until she goes Void at 7:24pm/10:24pm. She enters Cancer at 11:15pm/2:15am and the tide begins to rise.

Tuesday 4 April 2006

We're in the water now, surfing, swimming, and occasionally just treading water. But connections happen fast with a glance or a wink or even just eyes making contact with Mercury and Jupiter linked today.

Wednesday 5 April 2006

Try to find a “safe place” today – or at least know there is one in your life. A place where you're accepted as is, warts and all. Saturn is standing still, and that can engender a cautious feeling of being exposed and critiqued that's not always justified. Think about your time and how you spend it. Like Saturn, stop and look around. The Moon is Void at 10:00am and remains Void all day. So look but don't commit.

Thursday 6 April 2006

Venus has shifted into Pisces and her annual period of magical romance begins. The words to “Some Enchanted Evening” apply from time to time. But the Moon is Void in Cancer until 9:25am/12:25pm when she enters Leo and it will feel easier to take charge.

Friday 7 April 2006

The call to action is strong with the fiery Leo Moon linked with the fiery Aries Sun and Mars moving to pass opposite Pluto. Our inner teenage boys will be trying to break out and run wild. Did I mention that Mars and Pluto can be very sexy? Find a healthy place to run wild if you can.

Saturday 8 April 2006

Many of us will have passed a restless night. Don't go looking for slights and insults just to prove you're on other people's minds. We all need to be important, so make sure to tell those you love just how important they are to you. The Moon is Void from 4:02pm/7:02pm until 9:58pm/12:58am when she enters Virgo and we begin to regain our sanity.

Long Range Forecast:

May 4th – Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus form a high-energy water triangle as the Sun opposes Jupiter. Emotions are hair-triggered and can easily escalate out of control. And control or commitment may be an issue that provokes an emotional response.

Long-Long Range Forecast:

April 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.

June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car. Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
