The Week beginning March 26th, 2007
Week as a Whole:
I want to offer sincere appreciation for all those readers who sent emails of support last week. And for those who said that this week felt like Mercury Retrograde – you’re intuition is correct. Mercury remains in his “shadow” phase until this Wednesday when he finally moves into new zodiac territory. In addition to some lingering mental confusion, the past week was charged with energy and the drama of power changing hands. The Sun squared Pluto on Monday, the day after the Solar Eclipse. This square happens twice a year and is a time when our personal choices must be adjusted to allow for the needs and commitments of others. A very frustrating time for those used to acting unilaterally. Thus Pluto’s energy was a part of the Solar Eclipse that plays out through next week’s Full Moon.
Then Mars moved to activate the historic Saturn – Neptune opposition. With Saturn in Leo and Neptune in Aquarius this manifests the underlying theme of the Leo individual confronting an opposing group. This confrontational energy built all week peaking this past weekend, and will fade quickly now that Mars has completed this link with Neptune. The last Saturn – Neptune opposition came in the spring of 1972…the Nixon – Watergate Years for those of us who are hearing echoes. The final Saturn – Neptune opposition of this series comes on June 24th, the same day that Uranus stands till. Expect another political drama to be taking place then.
The Plutonian power struggles will continue, less fiery than Mars but more serious and long lasting, and grow until next weekend when Pluto stands still to begin his retrograde period. He resumes forward motion on September 8th. Pluto has a retrograde period every year for roughly four months each year. The times when his apparent motion stops, at the beginning and end of this period, are times when Pluto power surges. Pluto represents shared power and control in our lives. Unlike Leo’s individual decision-making, Pluto works in and through relationships and this requisite cooperation is the basis for the conflict with Leo and his solar power. Expect an undertone of emotional intensity from Pluto’s high charge. People will express their deepest needs and desires consciously or unconsciously; there will be few or no disinterested observers. You may find yourself very short with non-committal people.
The overall energy level will continue high all this week peaking with next Tuesday’s Full Moon. That Full Moon will spotlight the issues that began with the Solar Eclipse of last weekend. So even though planetary activity this week is relatively quiet, last week’s tensions and stress will continue and issues begun then will churn their way to climax at the coming Full Moon.
Next weekend a new player comes on the field: Uranus. On Saturday as Pluto stands still, Venus moves to exactly two signs from Uranus and on Sunday Mercury aligns with Uranus. Venus and Mercury together stand for our inner mental life: the thoughts in our heads, communications, and our reactions and feelings triggered by the people around us. Uranus electrifies and surprises wherever he makes contact. So expect to be surprised - even shocked - at your reactions and those of others. These may include a sudden realization that your feelings have changed or clarified in an instant. Expect at least a “hunch” or two and we’re well advised to heed these inner urgings. There may also be an urge to be different just for the sake of being different. Uranus represents the rebel in each of us.
Daily Forecasts:
Monday 26 March 2007
The Moon is Void all day in Cancer from 7:36am/10:36am until tomorrow morning. Emotions rule over thought today and may come and go like the tides. Go with the flow but don’t make snap decisions.
Tuesday 27 March 2007
The Moon enters Leo today at 10:04am/1:04pm and then moves to move into a flowing link with the Aries Sun this evening. Our physical energy is high and warmth and affection comes easily.
Wednesday 28 March 2007
Expect a push-pull this morning as the Leo Moon squares Venus in Taurus. Some people will have taken rigid positions no matter how much MGM roaring occurs. Watch the Moon pass in front of Saturn this evening at 9:55pm/12:55am. It will begin a bit earlier and Saturn will emerge at bit later. The Moon and Saturn appear to the right of the constellation Leo and the bright star Regulus.
Thursday 29 March 2007
The Moon is activating the Saturn – Neptune/Mars opposition from last night’s alignment at 9:55pm through 8:45am/11:45am this morning when the Moon is exactly opposite Mars. Combat dreams and politics may color a day that recapitulates last week.
Friday 30 March 2007
Although there are no connections made today, everyone will be emotionally on edge as Pluto slows to his stop tomorrow. The Virgo Moon should help to keep us grounded. Much can be accomplished with almost obsessive motivation and a need to be useful. Don’t let this be squandered on nitpicking and fault finding among perceived “enemies.”
Saturday 31 March 2007
Pluto and Uranus combine today to bring sudden change, surprises, reversals of attitude, and personal evolution. Some of us may feel like a stranger inhabits their body. That may be a self long buried and now ready to resurrect. Or less dramatically, a complete makeover at the hairdresser’s. Don’t ask for someone’s opinion unless you want the truth today.
Sunday 1 April 2007
The Moon is Void from 6:37am/9:37am until 8:43am/11:43am when she enters Libra. Look for a shift into from emotions to thoughts when the Moon shifts. That rumbling you hear in the distance is the approaching Full Moon tomorrow with multiple “Y” patterns and Venus moving to square Saturn. Choices and decisions will be required.
April 2nd – A
complex of three “Y” patterns forms indicating major decisions are required and
a sharp turn taken by those whose personal horoscopes are touched this
day. More on this as the time
approaches. Thanks to astrologer Helga Steffee for pointing this out.
Nov 3, 2008 – Saturn makes an opposition to Uranus that echoes the Saturn
– Uranus/Pluto opposition of March 6, 1966.
Ex-hippies take note. On March 4th,
John Lennon was quoted as saying "We're more popular than Jesus now." The revival of Sixties cultural themes begins
now and builds slowly toward the Uranus – Pluto squares beginning in 2012.
April 14, 2009 – March 21, 2010 -
Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in
Capricorn. The end of
business-as-usual politics. The
nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government
will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – April 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto,
a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology
and/or petroleum-based economies fail.
Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a
car. Plan to live where you’ll know your
neighbors…maybe even love them. What a
thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
