12 February 2006 – 18 February 2006
Aquarius and Leo share a common theme of striving for human perfection. Aquarius expresses human activity in groups unified by a common ideal or goal. Leo expresses individual human perfection as we strive toward biological and personal supremacy. This Sunday evening's Full Moon in Leo (with the Sun in Aquarius) shines down on the just begun Winter Olympics. We see groups of people united by country and by sport, peacefully striving toward perfection with the express goal of brotherhood in sport and world harmony. These athletes are the Leo cream of the human crop. Kings and queens in their special realms. Their vitality and joy is infectious and an ongoing expression of the dream of world peace and cooperation.
Last week, we discussed Neptune and Jupiter's power to unite us around ideals and symbols. They remain highly charged in the square angle. Last week, we enjoyed the American athletic summit at the Super Bowl. This week, the world celebrates with pageantry and symbols European-style in Torino. These events remind us that we can come together for reasons other than war and fear. They show us how we are alike in our variety.
The Leo Full Moon is always a time to look good, to dress with style, to shine out into your world, to love and be loved.
Tuesday is a day of multiple connections: Venus links with Jupiter, Mercury is aligned with Uranus, and the Sun connects with Pluto. And all day the Virgo Moon sweeps across the the sky contacting them one after another from 3:43am/6:43am until 10:04pm/1:04am. The most significant of these is the Mercury alignment with Uranus. The energy of two planets lining up is always potent and since both Mercury and Uranus represent various aspects of our mental faculties, their combined energy has a single focus. We think with Mercury, that is we collect information and we make connections and communicate. Uranus brings that flash of intuition when we know the truth or answer but don't know how we know. We just know. We all have had that feeling when we suddenly “get it”, when the picture coheres into meaning. No matter what zodiac sign he's in, Uranus operates beneath the surface, building hidden energy, and then suddenly bursting into consciousness with a fully formed idea. Now, operating in mysterious Pisces, this unexpected quality is emphasized even more. And the connections made, the realities bridged, seem to have been inevitable when they surface.
Tuesday is a day when many doors will open. Doors that have been open will be seen for the first time. The opportunity to put the past behind us is suggested by the Sun – Pluto connection. Venus – Jupiter shows that there are people ready to help – and maybe profit – from changes in alliance and commitments. The Moon works hard and stays long in Virgo, going Void late Wednesday as she connects with Mars. It may be possible for some of us to conceive, plan, and begin a major project between Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening.
On Friday Mars enters Gemini and on Saturday the Sun enters Pisces. Next Sunday they form a square angle. This is a shift from the fixed energies of Taurus and Aquarius into the mutable shifting energies of Gemini and Pisces. Both Gemini and Pisces are considered “dual signs” and often are actually more than just dual. They lead us into realities with many layers of meaning and into situations in which we can find ourselves having very mixed reactions and emotions. We will be looking through surface meanings into deeper levels. Edges and boundaries will blur. The fixed signs can have us plodding and persisting in a course of action. The mutable signs are about reacting and adjusting to people and changing conditions. In boxing, some fighters are “punchers”. They move relentlessly forward keeping up a steady series of blows. With the Sun in Aquarius, and more because of Mars in Taurus, we have felt like these stalwart puncher-boxers. But another type of boxer is a counter-puncher who reacts to a swing with a faster “counter” punch. Every punch thrown creates an opportunity for a counter blow. We're changing our style from punchers to counter-punchers next weekend.
With Mars moving into Gemini, our punching will be largely verbal. The Pisces Sun is an annual opportunity to experience the various different realities in the world. Implicit in Pisces is the sea and the surface of the sea and the air above. That is two realities separated by a surface. Pisces natives spend their lives crossing and re-crossing the surfaces between realities. Musicians, mystics, artists, actors, and media mavens all live in and use these dual worlds. The Pisces reputation for fantasy and less than complete truthfulness is a natural side-effect of this shifting. This complexity will manifest before next Sunday and linger afterward. Some people will be seen as out and out liars but others will be expressing a complex and subtle viewpoint that may not easily fall into simple right and wrong.

Long Range Forecast:
March 2nd - 4th - Mercury goes retrograde on March 2nd and two days later Jupiter does the same. Since both symbolize human communications and mental processing, we can certainly expect more than the usual Mercury Retrograde confusions. Computer networks and the media may exhibit anomalous behavior. Past events will resurface and be revisited. Mercury resumes normal motion on March 25th; prior to then avoid signing contracts and making decisions based on critical information. Something may be overlooked.
Long-Long Range Forecast:
February 14, 2009 – August 21, 2010 - Saturn makes a series of squares to Pluto newly in Capricorn. The end of business-as-usual politics. The nationalistic dinosaurs will enter their twilight times. The transition to organic regional government will not be smooth…the result may be some corporate feudal mixture.
June 24, 2012 – March 17, 2015 - Uranus in Aries forms his first major hard aspect to Pluto, a square angle, since they were aligned in the second half of the 1960’s. Hippie dreams may come true when the ecology and/or petroleum-based economies fail. Plan to live where there is food and water and you don’t need a car. Plan to live where you’ll know your neighbors…maybe even love them. What a thought! We may have to choose between eating grain on a commune or growing very thin in the city.
Daily Forecasts
A day about Man and His Symbols. The bright light of the Leo Full Moon shines on us all. Everyone needs their 15 minutes of fame. For some the need today is very strong.
The Moon is Void from 3:48am/6:48am until she enters Virgo at 8:13am/11:13am. Today is time to gather info and energy for tomorrow. Look for a project to wrap up and finally finish this week. Moon, Venus, and Mars are all in earth signs good for getting things done.
The world appears changed when we get up this morning. By evening, we're in motion to do something with this new insight. Work late or socialize with people who can help you and whom you can help. Make deals.
More of the same until the Moon goes Void at 7:21pm/10:21pm. You'll have to make a sacrifice of some kind around midday; it may be letting go of an old concept or self-image.
The Moon is now in Libra but makes few contacts today. If you ran a bit roughshod recently, this is a good day to go back and make amends. With the Sun and Mars in the last degree of their signs, there's an underlying urgency, a strong push to get to the end and move on. Itchy feet.
Mars leaves Taurus and enters Gemini at 2:44pm/5:44pm. All of you Aries people will feel released at long last. Mars has been in Taurus since July 28 2005. Way too long for most of us. We know now how to stubbornly persist beyond reason. And we know how to stick to an effort until it works.
The Moon is Void for 12 minutes this morning at 8:59am/11:59am when she moves from Libra into Scorpio. There may be some last minute forgotten detail to cleanup early today. The Sun enters Pisces at 11:26am/2:26pm and both the Sun and Moon are in water signs. Feel don't think this weekend and don't let your water get polluted.
